[She laughs.]

I think I can safely say I never quite expected things to end up like this, but I'm grateful for the extra time. We should have a party or something!

[Pause.]

...once I've got my regular ears back, of course. Not that the bunny ears aren't cute.

[Aerith's eyes flutter open, and she shifts against Zack, nuzzling into his chest sleepily. Something is wrong. She can feel it in the air. Whatever it is, as long as she's with Zack, she knows she'll be okay. He wouldn't let anything hurt her.

Her eyes close again, and her breathing evens out.

Slower.

Slower.

Slower.

...and then it stops entirely, and her hand on Zack's shoulder goes limp.]

[Aerith is out in the garden, clearly taking advantage of the last few warm days before fall and winter start hitting more full force. That's the problem with not living under a plate, she thinks. You have to deal with seasons. Not that she minds too much - she's loved all of the seasons she's seen so far, although she doesn't like not being able to garden in winter.

Regardless, now she's pulling weeds and trimming leaves, focusing on that so her mind doesn't go back to worrying, before she remembers something.]

Oh! Almost forgot!

[Flipping open her PHS, she hits some buttons to transmit.]

Hey~ If anyone wants to join me in the garden for some weed-pulling this afternoon, I look forward to seeing you!

These powers are pretty neat, aren't they? I've got these vines! And my outfit is really cute! Are there any villains out there who'd like to have at it? I can totally take you!

I have never been surrounded by such cretins in my life. Even being run through by Sephiroth was a picnic compared to the bullshit I have had to tolerate here. Honestly, if it weren't for my presence here, I'd think this was a collection of the most moronic, immature people this universe has to offer.

Zack, don't you let that Agon touch you. I mean, beyond whatever you have to do to keep the rings from shocking you. I don't have a problem with him normally, but I do have a problem with him being mean to you, or touching you.

Talk about out of your comfort zone, huh? I'm a city girl - never really left Midgar until Cloud and them took me out in my twenties. I don't think I've ever seen this much nature in my life! Well, maybe in Cosmo Canyon, or Gongaga, they were pretty natural. Not as natural as all this. I like it, though; it makes me feel more connected to the Planet, and I've missed that.

[A beat.]

Am I ... I'm rambling. I don't feel so good. Sorry. I guess I just need some - water or something.

[Pause - Aerith's breathing can be heard, it's fast and shallow.]

I think I'm gonna do that n - whoa! Okay, maybe I'll just sit for a bit. Just for a bit. Yeah. Are you guys all okay, doing well? Zack, Cloud? Lenalee, hon, how are you?

...ugh, I'm so sweaty.

I just spent fifteen minutes chasing a strawberry around the kitchen. Makes me kind of glad Cloud isn't here - he might have broken something laughing at me. Got it eventually, though, silly thing.

Speaking of ... has anyone seen Castiel lately? I haven't seen him anywhere and it's worrying me.

I hate it when people go missing. What if Ziva's next? What if Zack's next? What if I'm next?

[Aerith heads down the stairs towards the kitchen, wrapped in her own thoughts. She's still pretty weirded out over the whole 'Zack thinks he's back in Gongaga' thing, plus all the voices she hears calling out for people who have never been in the House. It's breaking her heart - she knows that soon, these poor people are going to be devastated when they find out they never left.

With a sigh, then a shake and a bright smile, she enters the dining room and greets the staff cheerfully, taking a seat to wait for Lenalee.]

Gosh, school is tough, isn't it? I never went to school properly back in Midgar, but despite how difficult some of my classes are, I'm really enjoying seeing what I missed the first time around! My favorite part is between classes~

Although, I'm a little concerned - has anyone seen Cloud or Yuffie recently? For that matter, Reno or Rude? Cloud and I were supposed to get breakfast this morning before class, and when I went down to his room, he was gone. I just hope everyone's okay. Does anyone know?

I guess I've got to get back to my homework now - would anyone like to get together in the library? I'm betting I'll be here for a while!

Zack? Um, we seem to have ... um ... developed ...

[crying; her voice becomes softer]

We've been together for six months, um, yesterday I think?

Admittedly, that also means we've been stuck here for six months, so it's a mixed blessing, but still, I think it's something to celebrate!

This place really does change people.

I mean, we talked! Like normal people! I held his hands and he smiled! Telling him I forgave him was ... it was like a burden lifted off my shoulders too. I just hope that my forgiving him can help Cloud and Zack and the others make their way towards that too. I hate this discord. We had enough of it back on the Planet, there's no need for it here.

Do you know how hard it is to find a bud vase in this place? I had to bother most of the staff to find one last night, and then I had to track down some plant food. It's okay, though, the flower I'm putting in it is totally worth it. I hope it flourishes.

BONUS!: "See?" Zack said and showed Aerith the scar from the wig on his knee. Then he kissed Aerith and they tumbled around the world and did a lot of very trashy things, some of them involving a fabulous box.

It's so true.

The zombies are gone, and thank goodness for it. I honestly don't think we could have stood another week of that kind of assault. I will say, though, it is so nice to to be able to have a shower and a nap and change my clothes. I think my sweater and skirt could have stood on their own by the end of all that!

To those of you recently returned to us, welcome back! We missed you. ♥
